Astrid Nørgaard

Graduate of the Danish Design School's textile programme, Astrid has spent two decades working with the finest leathers and fabrics in Northern Europe. She trained under master saddler Ole Mathiesen in Copenhagen, learning the hand-stitching techniques traditionally used for equestrian saddles — the same techniques she now applies to aviation seating. Her stitch count averages eight per centimetre, each pulled to identical tension by hand. She sources leather exclusively from Scandinavian tanneries that use vegetable-based processes, ensuring consistent colour and fire-test compliance.
